JNTU-Hyderabad - B.Pharmacy Regular Course - Academic Regulations – Promotion to III and IV year classes - For the academic year 2009-2010 - Promotion rules – Certain concessions


In the proceedings referred above, for calculation of credits required for promotion to III and IV year B. Tech. Classes, one of the concessions, was to consider supplementary exams of II B.Tech-I Sem and III B.Tech- I Sem respectively for the academic year 2008-2009 based on the representations made by the Colleges.

The Vice-Chancellor is pleased to extend the same concession, mentioned above, which was granted to the B.Tech students for promotion to III and IV year classes to B. Pharm students for promotion to III and IV year classes only for this Academic year 2009-2010, subject to the ratification by Academic Senate and Executive Council.

(a)For Regular students who were admitted under NR regulations during 2005-2006 academic year:

(i) Consideration of the credits earned in the following examinations, so as to fulfill the requirement of 42 credits for promotion to III B.Pharm. I semester:

(1) 4 regular and 3 supplementary examinations of I year
(2) 3 regular and 3 supplementary examinations of II year I sem

(ii) Consideration of the credits earned in the following examinations, so as to fulfill the requirement of 70 credits for promotion to IV B.Pharm. I semester:

(1) 4 regular and 3 supplementary examinations of I year
(2) 3 regular and 3 supplementary examinations of II year I sem
(3) 3 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of II year II sem
(4) 2 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of III year I sem

(b) For Regular students who were admitted under NR regulations during 2006-2007 academic year:

(i) Consideration of the credits earned in the following examinations, so as to fulfill the requirement of 42 credits for promotion to III B.Pharm. I semester:

(1) 3 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of I year
(2) 2 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of II year I sem


(ii) Consideration of the credits earned in the following examinations, so as to fulfill the requirement of 70 credits for promotion to IV B.Pharm. I semester:

(1) 3 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of I year
(2) 2 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of II year I semester
(3) 2 regular and 1 supplementary examination of II year II semester
(4) 1 regular and 1 supplementary examination of III year I semester


(c) For Regular students who were admitted under R07 regulations during 2007-2008 academic year:

(i) Consideration of the credits earned in the following examinations, so as to fulfill the requirement of 42 credits for promotion to III B.Pharm. I semester:

(1) 2 regular and 1 supplementary examinations of I year
(2) 1 regular and 1 supplementary examinations of II year I sem

(d) For Lateral entry students who are admitted under NR regulations during 2006-2007 academic year:

Consideration of the credits earned in the following examinations, so as to fulfill the requirement of 42 credits for promotion to IV B.Pharm. I semester:

(1) 3 regular and 3 supplementary examinations of II year I sem
(2) 3 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of II year II sem
(3) 2 regular and 2 supplementary examinations of III year I sem

(e) For Regular students who were admitted under OR regulations (i.e. prior to 2005-2006 academic year):

Consideration of the credits earned from all the examinations conducted from the date of the admission of the respective candidates, so as to fulfill the requirement of 56 and 100 credits for promotion to III and IV year classes, respectively.

(f) For Lateral entry students who were admitted under OR regulations during 2003-2004, 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 academic years:

Consideration of the credits earned from all the examinations of II and III years conducted from the date of their admission so as to fulfill the requirement of 44 credits for promotion to IV year class.

The Principals are hereby permitted to promote the candidates to III and IV years, who secure the required credits, by considering the concessions granted in promotion rules, as given above. They are further informed that for calculation of attendance to get eligibility to appear for the University End examinations, the attendance is to be taken from 27-07-09

The Principals are requested to prepare the Final List of Detained Candidates. The List should be uploaded to the examination Portal on or before 30-07-09.The uploaded file is to be named as <colcode>_shortageofcredits.zip. (Example: if College code is E7, file should be zipped as E7_shortageofcredits.zip and upload it).
