Question Where to do MS? - India/USA/UK/Australia?

First of all you need to ask the following questions to yourself?

    1. What is your long term goal in life?
    a) Just money! More money!
    b) Research?
    c) Live life as it goes?
    d) Just be in pharmaceutical field and help my family.
    e) Money + Pharmacy?
    f) I dont care, I just wanna live in USA/UK/Australia.

    2. Are you financially capable?
    a) Yes I have loads!
    b) No, Can't afford!
    c) Can make up somehow!

    3. Will the world end in 2012?
    a) Yes! For sure!
    b) No! Never!

If your answer for the first question is ->
    a) Just money and more money!
Better dont go for MS and enter into some other business!

    b)Research?
Then you can choose any path either India or USA. If not them - UK and Australia. You have a lot of oppurtunities in India and USA, comparitivele less in other two countries.
India is fast developing in this field and holds an immense share in the world market. So, you can always stay in India.
Just think you discovered a chemical for some ailment and take copyrights for it! You'll be rich in nooo time!! All you need is a medicinal chemistry lab!

    c) Live life as it goes
Well if you want to live life as it goes - try everything! GRE/GPAT/TOEFL/NIPER what not everything! And just go with whatever comes in your way! After all, you have to be happy with whatever you have!

d)Just be in the pharmaceutical field and help my mom and dad.
I appreciate it! Since, you want to do justice to both your profession and parents - go for GPAT and PGECET. If none qualified! - get into a job in a pharmaceutical company and proceed with your career (though initial salaries will be less for B. Pharm graduates - you can advance slowly)

    e)Money + Pharmacy!
So, you want to be in Pharmacy and make money! Basically if you are talented and want to make money there are many ways in pharmacy field in India. I know people who earn 70,000 per month with just B. Pharm degree. And more than 3 lakhs per month with an M. Pharm degree. No need to go USA or any other country! But if you are willing to go USA and earn money - be ready to face tough competition. If you can get through - then you are a star! You'll be rich in no time.

    f) I don't care! I wanna live abroad! and settle there!
If you choose this option, I assume that you are rich! So, can always go for other countries. But, make sure you don't forget your mother country.

    >> To be continued!

If your answer for the second question is
    a) Yes I have loads!
and your answer for the first question is b/e/f - Then you can choose USA/UK as your study destination. Yes! Its true. The studies there will cost a fortune sometimes. It could cost you anywhere between 3-10 lakhs per semester [Assuming you get no scholarship/Assistantship]. So, considering the two years of study it will cost anywhere between 12 lakhs to 40 lakhs INR. If you get scholarship and stuff that would be a different situation by the way... There are people who got admitted with upto 90% fee redemption.

    b) Can't afford!
India is no less! Choose India! Its better to make a plan to study in India after entering into 3rd year. Because, to qualify GPAT/NIPER/BITSAT in India - you need an year or more preparation! In India depending on the university the fee will range from 1 lakh to 15 lakhs maximum (for both years). I'm talking about the management quota. If you get through GPAT or any other examination, you can even get a free seat with a monthly stipend of 8000 - 15000 INR. Sounds good right! :-) So, go for it.

    c) Can make up somehow.
Lets say, you want to go to USA very badly and in lack of sufficient funds - Don't worry! There are bank loans!! You can always take the help of loans! But only if you are craving for USA!!! Else, choose India.

If your answer for the third question is
    a) Yes! For Sure!
Then don't choose USA or other country. Stay in your home country!

    b) No! Never!
Then its up to you to decide.

So, think of it. Make post your decisions/plans as replies. Any further queries - your satrohraj always there to help!

Since english proficiency is the only requirement for other countries than USA. You can apply straight away with it. Try to maintain your aggregate above 65%. If possible 70%+.
Try and get 6.5 band in IELTS you'll have better opportunities concerned with part time jobs, scholarships etc.
