[ALERT] IPA STUDENT CONGRESS happening in Mumbai - Aug 2 - Aug 4th

IPA-Students’ Congress (IPA-SC) is an annual conference exclusively for students, organized by the IPA Students’ Forum (IPA-SF) . The 1st IPA-SC was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (former president-India) and was attended by more than 700 students, from 80 pharmacy colleges representing 14 states. In 2009 it was held at Acharya & B.M. Reddy College of Pharmacy, Bangalore from 10th – 12th July, where 1600 students across the linguistic, cultural and geographic spectrum of the country attended the congress. It was also attended India’s top pharmaceutical personalities like Dr. Anji Reddy, Chairman, Dr. Reddys’ Labs, Late, Dr. M Venketeswarulu, Drugs Controller General of India (Head of Indian FDA), Dr. Varaprasad Reddy, Ex. M.D., Shantha Biotech to name a few.

This conference includes educational symposiums, workshops and poster presentations covering a broad range of topics delivered by the experts, exclusively designed considering students’ aptitude and interest. The conference also hosts an annual general assembly which makes decisions and chooses the leaders who would take IPA-SF forward.

This year IPA-SF is organizing 3rd IPA-Students’ Congress at SVKM’s NMIMS in Mumbai from 2nd to 4th August 2010 which would feature –

2. Edu Expo 2010: Expo featuring International/Domestic institutions having PG courses
3. Recruitment Expo 2010: Recruitment opportunities for the fresh graduates
4. Scientific Symposiums
5. Workshops

Our aim is to provide a platform for students, academia and industry to discuss and share information about various issues influencing the pharmaceutical world. It is a perfect venue for the industry to initiate a dialogue for the most critical challenges that we face in health care & seek opportunities to improvise the current healthcare system as a whole. IPA and its Student division(IPA-SF) focuses on how students can contribute towards a better healthcare system in India and aims to groom young pharmacists to cater the needs of the dynamic pharmaceutical industry and to raise ethical parameters and uplift the face of Indian Pharmaceutical industry.

Even I wanted to go there. But Im having my GRE next month. So, couldn't afford to loose time. But a few of my friends went there. I will try to post the pictures and stuff of the main event soon.
